Bombshell Angels - Your Sparkly Support Crew!
At The Bombshell Burlesque Academy, community has always been one of our sparkliest jewels.

Over the years, students have naturally turned to their tutors — often Lila as she was the lone email wrangler for many years — for the soft questions, the creative wobbles, the “is this normal?” moments, and the behind-the-scenes reassurance that makes growing as a performer feel safe and supported.

As our Academy grows— more students, more classes, more soloists taking their first steps — we want to make sure that warmth doesn’t disappear. We want every student to feel held, even as our little world expands.
So, in true Bombshells fashion, we’re evolving.

We’re welcoming a small group of trusted tutors into a new, guiding role: Bombshell Angels 🪽

Angels aren’t replacing anything, they’re simply extending what has always made Bombshells special: genuine care, lived experience, and a supportive space to ask the tiny questions you don’t quite know where to send.
It’s the same magic, held by more hands.

Bombshell Angels are trusted Academy tutors who offer warm, low-pressure support to students and emerging soloists.
You know those questions that aren’t really admin questions, or class questions, or big life questions, but just Bombshells questions?

The “is this normal?”

The “I’m excited but also spiralling a bit?”

The “I’m not sure who to ask this but I’m feeling a thing?”

That’s exactly where the Angels come in.

This is a free, gentle landing space where you can ask the small questions, the silly questions, the what-if questions, and the “I think I’m overthinking this” questions.

Angels offer reassurance, clarity, and perspective from their own professional and lived experiences, all while staying aligned with the Academy’s policies and culture.

Basically: the human side of being a Bombshell.

Bombshell Angels are here for encouragement, reassurance, and general guidance, but there are some things outside of their halo zone:

Angels cannot:

• Help you circumvent the Academy’s terms, conditions, or FAQs.

• Offer free coaching, but they can point you in the right direction to a tutor or resource that can assist in more detail when appropriate

• Give choreography fixes, act critiques, or technical instruction - book them for a private lesson instead.

• Manage payment or existing booking queries - email contact@bombshellacademy.com.au for those

• Untangle disagreements, mediate drama, or take sides. They can offer their perspective if you need support, but they are Angels, not referees.

• Handle serious issues such as bullying or harmful behaviour. These need to be emailed directly by the person involved to contact@bombshellacademy.com.au. The Academy can only respond to incidents that happen in Bombshell Academy classes, at Bombshell Burlesque produced events, or publicly posted content with names attached. Anonymous reports cannot be actioned.

• Support someone who is being disrespectful, aggressive, or unkind. Angels keep their space safe too.

Even when something sits outside their scope, Angels will always endeavor to point you toward the right path. 🪽
Meet Your Angels:

Lenore Lenore (she/they)
Playfully dubbed Lenmum over a decade ago, I bring grounded confidence and mega hype-squad energy to every backstage I have the privilege of managing, armed with burlesque hacks, mostly-gentle reality checks, and fierce encouragement straight from the depths of my soul when it really counts.

How long have you been part of The Bombshell Burlesque Academy?
I did my very first class with Lila Luxx back in September 2012, performing the Bad As Me Neo Burlesque routine at the Old Museum, and I was instantly hooked. I was lucky enough to be asked to start teaching in mid-2014, and I’ve been bumping and grinding away ever since.

What kinds of questions do you especially love helping students with?
Weird problem questions. Pasties not sticking? Try isopropyl alcohol wipes first. Wig lace looking gross? Isopropyl alcohol and a toothbrush. Glass rhinestones not sparkling like they should? Funnily enough… isopropyl alcohol. It solves a lot of burlesque conundrums.

If a student emails the Angels for the first time, what do you hope they feel after reading your reply?
Calm and supported. You’re not alone in this chaotic, glittery world.
Martini McFly (she/her)
Relentlessly supportive dance mum energy, obsessed with burlesque in all its iterations, will gladly tell you where she got her eyeliner from.

How long have you been part of The Bombshell Burlesque Academy?
I started as a student aaaaaall the way back in 2016… and then they couldn’t get rid of me.
What’s your favourite part of being part of The Bombshell Burlesque Academy?Being part of the most wonderful, supportive and INTERESTING community there is. I have met some of the coolest people on the planet through the academy that I never would have crossed paths with otherwise.
How would you describe your Angel energy in a few words?
I’m not a regular mom, I’m a cool mom.
Coffee order or post-show treat of choice?
Iced oat latte… Prosecco for after.

Mara Maraschino (she/her)
Chaotic, glamourous and chronically online.

How long have you been part of The Bombshell Burlesque Academy? A student since 2016 and a tutor since 2024. I love my sparkle fam x

When students are stuck in their heads or second-guessing themselves, what would you remind them of?
I would remind them to think about how they cheer and clap for fellow performers, how they are entranced by them and how they don't pick apart their faults. I remind them that just as they cheer for others, others are cheering for them! This is a safe space to create.

What do you remember most clearly about your earliest days at the Academy?
Back in 2016, sweating in our old Metro Arts studio, climbing the stairs to the very top floor, but with my heart bursting with happiness knowing I've found something that truly fed my soul.

Feathers or fringe?
Both. At the same time. Also with faux-fur AND rhinestones
Pre-show nerves: quiet focus or chat-it-out?
A chaotic mix of both, including pacing, preening and lot's of selfies!
