There are very few people in the burlesque and cabaret world who can look at an act and immediately understand what it's trying to be, and then tell you, with precision and warmth, exactly how to get it there. Lila Luxx is one of them.

 

As the director of The Bombshell Burlesque Academy & Bombshell Burlesque events, a working performer with over 15 years in the industry, and formal qualifications and training in theatre arts, Lila brings a rare combination to her feedback: the eye of a director, the instincts of a seasoned performer, and the language of a teacher who genuinely wants you to succeed. She's seen what separates a good act from an unforgettable one, and she can articulate it.

PRIVATE LESSONS - MAGANDJIN/BRISBANE STUDIO OR VIA VIDEO

Private coaching can often be the key to taking your concept or stage persona to the next level!

These sessions can focus on narrative, choreography development, presentation & performance skills, polishing and refining an existing act, creating a new routine or competition prep. Past students coached by Lila include winners of Mx Burlesque Queensland, Mx Burlesque Brisbane, Mx Burlesque Gold Coast, Mx Burlesque Perth, Burlesque Idol Brisbane, Burlesque Idol Newcastle, title holders of the Miss Pinup Australia competition and many more.

Lila has a lifetime of performance experience and is known for her eclectic repertoire which ranges from stunning classic numbers, to balletic lyrical acts, high energy dance based numbers and theatrical neo burlesque. As Director of BBA she has shared her knowledge with many a budding performer and can take your act to the next level!

IN STUDIO PRIVATE LESSONS: $120 per 1hr session.

PREPARE: Pen & Notebook, ipod with headphones, inspiration (pictures, books, movies, drawings etc), costume ideas, music, props and anything else relevant to your act. If you’re working on a competition act, please have the rules with you.

EMAIL ACT REVIEW

Not every question needs an hour, and not every schedule allows for one. Lila's Email Act Review brings the same sharp eye and honest feedback to performers anywhere in the world, on your time.

​

Every review is focused, honest, and specific to your work and your concerns, rather than generic best practice advice. Lila meets you where you are, whether you're still shaping a concept or polishing a competition act.

Accessible worldwide. Responses within 7 business days. Tailored to your requirements in three tiers:

Concept Consult — $55

For acts still being built. Share your concept: the music, the character, the theme, the aesthetic direction, and the specific questions you want answered. Lila will respond with written developmental feedback addressing your questions and helping you shape what you're making into something worth finishing. No video needed.

Act Review — $85

For acts that exist in some form and have a specific problem to solve. Send your video (any stage of development, filmed at home or on stage) via Dropbox, Google Drive, or similar, alongside a written brief that clearly outlines your concerns. Your brief should name what you're worried about, what isn't landing, or what you can't figure out. Lila's response will be focused directly on what you've asked, not a sweep of everything. Submissions without a brief will be returned. This tier is not a full critique; it's a targeted conversation about a specific challenge.

Performance Polish — $110

For performers who want granular, moment-by-moment feedback on their execution. Send your video via Dropbox, Google Drive, or similar, along with a brief that covers: what you want feedback on, what you'd prefer to leave out of the review, and any specific performance outcome you're working toward (a competition, a debut, a particular venue or audience). Lila will work through your act beat by beat, providing detailed notes on movement quality and technique, polishing corrections, pacing within moments, staging choices, reveal timing, and the overall feel of your performance in the room.

All tiers include one round of clarifying questions via email. This is for follow-up questions on the feedback provided, not for submitting additional video.

THE CATBIRD SEAT: ONLINE ACT COACHING

Someone in “The Catbird Seat” is in a position of advantage and that’s exactly where you’ll be by the end of this course.
